shift+arrow broken in macOS terminal

When working on the diff, I can "reset lines", which asks if I "want to discard 1 selected line". So I assume more than one line at a time is supported. But I'm afraid I can't figure out how to select lines.

Shift+arrow keys does not work in Apple Terminal.

our terminal base lib crossterm shows the same behaviour cargo run --example event-poll-read:

Event::Key(KeyEvent { code: Left, modifiers: SHIFT })
Event::Key(KeyEvent { code: Up, modifiers: NONE })
Event::Key(KeyEvent { code: Right, modifiers: SHIFT })
Event::Key(KeyEvent { code: Down, modifiers: NONE })

funny enough its only up and down that do not work.

so I guess your only way out is to rebind shift_up and shift_down in the gitui keybindings. or you use iterm on macos - no issue with that using shift+up.

Turn out Apple Terminal swallows all key strokes that usually have meaning to macOS, unless you override them in preferences. This is the default for left & right. You just have to add up & down as follows.
