chore: update dependencies

[rossiam]

• updated dependencies, including eslint and axios
• updated eslint config and some code as a result
  • added spaces around curly braces where missing
  • replaced any with unknown in a couple of places
  • fixed a couple of awaits in tests
  • fixed a few calls to functions in tests that were missing parenthesis!
• added types to mock helper functions in utils module
