Hello @kushaldas

Do you plan to use the project on transifex?

It has many benefits, it is easy to find translators, more accessible, no burden of prs etc. There are however both a bn_IN and bn project (the latter with more translations) and from what I can tell using either should be fine since Bengali is mainly used in India anyway, but it is up to you.

Setting up a repository is quite simple with python-docs-translations/transifex-automations's sample workflows and their documentation (a sample usage can also be found here). Set up is quite simple, copy the workflows, replace XX with bn_IN and add a TX api key to secrets, the docs have details and helpful links.

Since this repo has no translations, wiping it will probably be easier. The transifex also has some translations to get you started.

You can then message me your username and I will add you as coordinator of the project in transifex, though please do request to join as a translator, since I need to promote an existing translator (otherwise is messy).

I would love to use weblate or any other Open Source project for this. I heard there was a discussion about setting up weblate for Cpython translation.

Weblate though open source is not as open source friendly, they have limits which we greatly exceed, and hence, we use Transifex.

There are plans to set it up and talks with the PSF about funding, though I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

For now, all that is available is TX, which generally is identical to weblate.
